Just went viewing elizabeth's blog and saw one of her past post which has this vid on it. And I swear after watching it, it got me fuming mad....
Our dear country friend Taiwan decided to insult Singaporean's english...
Through one of their variety shows, they say that we, Singaporeans speak like this...
Quotes a few e.g. like...
Instead of tissue paper...they say we pronounce it as "tisu paper"
Instead of hurry up...they say we pronounce it as "herri arh"
Instead of pregnant, they say we pronounce it as "pegnant"
Ok, lets not get vulgar right now (even though I can seriously swear like nobody's business now)
They say we suck in english, but at least we have a huge percentage of people capable of speaking english regardless of perfect or lousy english. And surely our number of capable english speakers is more than them.
SO PLS, if they wanna insult us, they should take a good look at their own current english state 1st...I think they seriously are not worth my time talking about...and whos knows...one primary school kid might just kick the ass of an taiwanese adult in english...
